Standing for teachers when they enter into classes, is permissible in islam according to respect and honour. so no problem in it. All deeds are according to ur intention.

even our islam brothers if elderds come or enter the younger stand up and give salaam and shake hands , if we never do it others say u do know how respect elders so please explain clearly about this issue
Sahabi Saad Ibn Muad related hadeeth is true. Our prophet told to get up for the leader. It is enough prove to stand for elders in respects. If this is not allowed, Prophet would not use the word "stand up" "leaders" to ALL. our prophet would have directed 2 or 3 sahabs to go and help / accompany.
The hadeeth saying "do not stand" could also be right, but here we require Thathbeekath and situation based logic. You should not come to a stand without logic.

you can quote this hadtih if someone says like that. They'll obviously understand if your general behavior is respectful towards elders.
