WELCOMING THE MONTH OF RAMALAN

Assalamu Alaikum respected and honourable elders, brothers and sisters! Allah (Glory Be To Him), the Most beneficent, the Most merciful has framed our life with certain procedures to protect ourselves from the impacts of our feeble and weak characters with which we have been created. The impacts mentioned here are not the impacts due to one's bad health, political or social issues, but the impacts due to the actions of satan. He is the one with an all time desire to spoil the life of mankind in the hereafter and thereby misleading them away from jannah. Allah (GBTH) has framed certain guidelines to protect us from satan's plot.
Since mankind are created under feeble atmosphere, the chances are high that he can be easily misguided by satan's plot and thereby spoiling hereafter life. When a man has gone astray due to satan's plot, he then involves in more and more bad deeds. Allah (GBTH) doesn't want His creation to be spoiled continuously and go to hell. Instead, Allah (GBTH) has framed certain procedures and guidelines to protect and rescue mankind from satan's plot and thereby leading him towards heaven. Allah (GBTH) creates opportunities now and then in order to give a chance to the mankind to change himself from sinful activities and thereby helping him with his desire of reaching heaven.
If any machine is imported from abroad to India, then along with it, few technicians and engineers would be sent in case of non-availability of proper technicians in India. These foreign technicians and engineers will teach the procedures to operate and repair the machines to the Indian technicians. As the foreign technicians and engineers will not be having long time visa, they will be handover the catalogues and also gives knowledge sharing to our Indian technicians which would be helpful if they encounter any problems with the machine. These are the common procedures in existence while introducing something new to this world. These procedures are not created by mankind but by Allah (GBTH) and has created deen ul-islam in such a way, while introducing Islam to the people of this world. The people are using this concept very well.
We should think on how Allah (GBTH) has started this procedure. Islam is a new and unknown machine to the people. It helps to guide mankind towards right and it makes mankind to be mankind. While introducing Islam to this world, the people found it different and wondered over it. They kept on thinking how it will maintain and guide mankind towards good. Allah (GBTH) sent technicians to make them understand about the machine called 'Islam'. These technicians are none other than Prophets. These Prophets didn't have long time (visa) to stay in this world. Allah (GBTH) sent them with certain time period to stay in this world. Till that period, these technicians i.e., Prophets showed how to operate the machine called 'Islam'. They explained each and every part of that machine like Prayer, Zakat, Hajj, Fasting etc. They also explained how to rectify the errors while making Hajj, fasting, prayers etc., The last one among those technicians is our beloved Prophet Mohamed (Pbuh). When his visa period in this world expired, he left the responsibility of taking care of the machine called 'Islam' with his ummaths. If we encounter any problem with the machine called 'Islam' while following it or if we have any doubts or issues while following it, then Prophet Mohamed (Pbuh) advised us to refer to 2 guides,
The catalogue book which is called “Holy Quran”- Book of Allah. The actions of Prophet Mohamed (Pbuh) – Hadith and Sunnahs.
Prophet Mohamed (Pbuh) said that we won't be misled if we follow our life style according to above 2 guides.
On that basis, Allah (GBTH) has sent His deen ul-islam through His messenger Prophet Mohamed (Pbuh) in order to guide mankind towards right, in order to make mankind to be mankind and in order to protect mankind from evil. Allah (GBTH) doesn't leave mankind to continue with evil activities, instead He wants his creation to be saved from evil. That's why He prepared certain arrangements to give a chance for mankind to rectify their errors. One of the beautiful arrangements among that is “Holy Quran”. We have Holy Quran now in hand. But we people are committing sins even having Quran in our hand. We are not involving ourselves in dhikrs and ibadahs. We are not only occupying ourselves with what Allah (GBTH) has guided but also with the activities that has been guided by satan. We are doing all the activities that are warned and prohibited by Allah (GBTH). In this situation, Allah (GBTH) has given another chance to each and every muslim of this world to correct ourselves from sins. That chance occurs once in a year like tallying yearly account in order to account our sins every year and thereby increasing our ibadahs to reach heaven.
Prophet Mohamed (Pbuh) said, “ Inspect yourselves first before Allah (GBTH) inspects your good and bad in the hereafter”. In that way, Allah (GBTH) has given us a chance to review and inspect our good deeds and bad deeds yearly once, which is going to come in a month time called “Ramadhan”.
Prophet Mohamed (Pbuh) gave such an importance to every Ramadhan he faced until his death. He used to remind people about the 'Ramadhan' two months earlier i.e., on month of Rajab itself. We now a days don't even care about Islamic months. Many of us don't know the Islamic months. But, Prophet Mohamed (Pbuh) reminded people on Rajab month itself, where Rajab comes before Shaban and Shaban comes before Ramadhan.
Prophet Mohamed (Pbuh) used to remind people 2 months before in such way like, “O people! A month of mubarak is nearing your way. This is a month when Holy Quran was revealed by Allah (GBTH).” etc.,
He used to prepare people by telling them about the importance of ramadhan. He used to make dua on Rajab month itself like “ Ya Allah! Please bless in bounty on Rajab and Shaban and extend our life till Ramadhan in order to make more ibadahs on that month and thereby tallying our yearly account with more good deeds”.
We may think on why Allah (GBTH) has selected Ramadhan month to tally our yearly account. On this month only Allah (GBTH) gave Hidayath to Prophet Mohamed (Pbuh). Allah (GBTH) made to happen three wonderful events on Ramadhan month,
Holy Quran was revealed in this month Battle of Badr, which played a main role to spread Islam among people happened in this month. Fathey Makkah – The Victory of Makkah, which gave more honour for all Muslims happened in this month.
The link between these three events are that, Allah (GBTH) chose these 3 events to give hidayath for the people of this world.
Allah's (GBTH) Holy Quran revealed in this month as a guideline and it is Al-Furqan, i.e., the book that can differentiate truth and false. There is no need that people has to be in confusion, because the Holy Quran will explain that clearly.
Allah (GBTH) says in His Holy Quran,
“ We have shown two paths to mankind clearly”.
One is the right path, where you have to face so many obstacles, problems, have to pray 5 times daily, have to fast, should have thakwa, should have Islamic perspectives/thoughts and must follow Allah's (GBTH) order but this tough path will lead one to heaven. Another path is very light. This is the easiest and likest path of everyone. You can have all evil activities like drinking alcohol, doing haram business, earning money in whatever way you want, can have all fun and celebrations. But this path will lead one to hell. So Allah (GBTH) says that He has shown both the paths to mankind clearly and it's up to us to choose. Allah's (GBTH) has clearly shown what is wrong and what is right. That's why Allah (GBTH) named Holy Quran as “Furqan”.
Similar to this, Allah (GBTH) has named 'Battle of Badr' as “Yavmul Furqan”. The day when both the groups attacked each other showed the truth and false to this world. It is the first battle in Islam and first battle for Prophet Mohamed (Pbuh). There were only 313 people with broken knives, rusted sword, crippled donkey, deaf camel, blind elephant and so on. Allah (GBTH) made these weak people with useless things and animals to stand in front of the huge force who came with all arrangements, shiny swords and weapons. But, using angels, Allah (GBTH) gave a miraculous victory to the muslims, the weak people who were striving even for next day's food. We might have heard of angels descending down in stories, histories or might have read in Holy Quran. But the people involved in the battle, not only muslims but also the non-muslims who wanted to destroy Islam completely, also saw directly through their eyes, this miraculous event of angels descending down from heaven. Allah (GBTH) organised such a miracle to happen in the Battle of Badr. Since, this battle has shown the truth and false, Allah (GBTH) called this day as “Yavmul Furqan”.
Next is the “Victory of Makkah”. Prophet Mohamed (Pbuh) entered Makkah as successful champion. When muslim force entered Makkah, there were no one to stand against them. Everyone went inside their house and locked. No one came forward to fight or question the Muslims. We know from the world history that when opposition force enters one's country, they will attack them badly. It may be the army force which went to Srilanka or the Indian force that entered Kashmir. Let it be any force. But any of the forces enters one's own place, that place will be spoiled completely. Srilanka and Kashmir are the best examples for this in the world history. What is happening in Kashmir today? The Kashmir people are very innocent people and depend on the nature and tourism. Allah's (GBTH) has given a beautiful place for them. But these people are facing tortures daily from Pakistan government who sends terrorist to Kashmir and on the other side the Indian police force are killing innocent people in the operation of finding terrorists. No place will be good if army enters there. There is one proverb in Tamil “If tortoise enters home, that home will be spoiled”. Like that if army or police enters any city then that city will be spoiled. This is the world history.
I need to tell this miserable truth. When I went to hajj 5 or 6 years ago, I met a person in prayer hall. That person said salam to me after finishing the prayer. I gave my hand and we were talking with each other. He asked me the native place. I said, I am from Tamil Nadu, India. When I said Tamil Nadu, immediately his face changed. Then I asked his native. Mashallah! He was looking good with turban in his head and had fair skin. He said, he is from Kashmir. I asked him the reason behind his face change after hearing the name Tamil Nadu. He told me the very miserable story that had happened in his life. He said that he belongs to Baramulla district in Kashmir. He wasn't known anything about Islam, Allah (GBTH) and Prophet (Pbuh) before. He was working as tourist guide as his father taught him just this alone. His job was to arrange room for tourists and helping them all. He even used to buy for them alcohol drinks and earn money from that tips. His life was going like that only. His family consisted of his father, mother and sister. At this situation, the army forces from Tamil Nadu came to our district in search of terrorists. They entered my home when I wasn't there. Only my father, mother and sister were at home. The army men entered my home, tied my parents and four men raped my sister in front of their eyes. These tortures are happening daily there. Even media person are not allowed there to publish these kind of incidents to the public. In this way, these kind of pathetic incidents are happening in Kashmir to the muslims in the name racism of and human rights breach. These incidents are hidden by the higher authorities. I asked him, how did he identified the army men as Tamilians. He said that his neighbour who knows tamil told him. He said that the army men were talking with my sister when she cried over their foot to leave her like “Kashmir girls are famous for their beauties, are we mad to leave them after getting it?”. He said that army men raped her sister telling this sentence. He said that his sister went out of home and till today we couldn't find her. His parents has committed suicide. He said that after this incident, he was badly affected and went to some Thablik Jamath to console his mind. He is saying that he came to know about Islam and Allah (GBTH) through this jamath. Now he is thinking to join in some extremist group. Then I told him to do more ibadahs and asked him to help other families who are affected like this too. I advised him as far as I could for 5 minutes.
We are coming to know these type of tortures and incidents that are happening in Kashmir only while meeting the direct victims some or other way. The public in Kashmir are daily protesting against army and police but they are becoming shaheeds by police shootings. These kind of incidents are the best example to understand when army enters any place then they will spoil that place completely.
But, in Islamic history, the force of Prophet Mohamed (Pbuh) entered Makkah. The people in Makkah earlier had tortured Prophet Mohamed (Pbuh) and his people and made them to leave Makkah. Only Prophet's (Pbuh) force were affected by the people of Makkah. The Muslims went out of their home, their business, their agricultural land in Makkah fearing Non-Muslims who tortured them. The same Muslims who returned to Makkah as a huge force could have taken revenge over the non-muslims. But, Prophet Mohamed (Pbuh) said, “O People of Makkah! Today I will not take revenge for what you have done to us. Those who entered and locked inside Abu Sufyan's house and their home are safe. But we will fight with those who are coming to fight with us”. In such a way Prophet Mohamed (Pbuh) made a wise propaganda as a good example for all the people of this world. This incident gave hidayath for many people who desired for peace till the day of judgement. So, this event also happened in the month of Ramadhan.
We should welcome such a beautiful month called Ramadhan. We should plan for our ibadahs in this month. Our ladies at home will plan to make different food items in this fasting month. The thieves and cheats will wear cap and grow beard in this month to ask for money in the name of marriage and so on. Those who are running Islamic campaigns will start printing advertisements receipt books to collect money from people. What we public should do? We should plan for our ibadahs from now on. We should inspect our good and bad deeds we have done so far. We should try to increase our good deeds and ibadahs. At the same time, we know our bad deeds, we must promise Allah (GBTH) that we will not repeat it again in future from this Ramadhan inshaallah. This month is to inspect ourselves. Because Allah (GBTH) doesn't wants us to go hell instead he desires us to go Heaven. Prophet Mohamed (Pbuh) said, that Allah's (GBTH) affection is more than 70,000 mothers. That's why Allah (GBTH) doesn't wants us to be in hell and gives us a chance to rectify ourselves from sins through this month. He wants us to increase our ibadahs more and more and tally our yearly account with more good deeds. May Allah (GBTH) bless us to inspect ourselves in a better way. May Allah (GBTH) occupy us in ibadahs and good deeds as He wants us to be in this month of Ramadhan.
